Large Palms for ImpactIf you have the space and need a bold and architectural palm to serve as a focal point, make room for these massively majestic palm trees. Bismarck palms (Bismarckia nobilis, zones 9b to 11) stand out not only for their size, but for their nearly white blue-gray fronds. Royal palms
palms (Roystonia regia, zones 9b to 11) and bailey palms (Copernica baileyana, zones 10 to 11) are both notable for their huge gray, concrete-like trunks; they're quite popular for lining avenues in affluent areas. Cohune palm (Attalea cohune, zones 10 to 11) is magnificently regal even before it forms

What type of palms are these
I'm looking for a palm tree that stays about the size shown in this photo. It seems like most palms eventually grow really tall. what do you recommend? I live in Southern California.
The ponytail palm and chamaerops humilis are both low growing palms that will get taller but take a long time. You can also try pygmy date palms. They have a more fan type leaf. I'm in southern ca so if you need plant help just click on my name it will take you to my page and you can email me.
These palms are adonidia merrilli, not sure if available in California
