How do you paint a wood floor?
How are these floors holding up? Or how do painted floors hold up in general?
For a modern look, try a bold high gloss color. For a more traditional approach, think about a harlequin floor pattern or border around the edges. Let me know how it turns out! I love the look of painted wood.
you sand the floors down with either a floor sander or a hand sander. Remove the excess dust with a wet mop, and allow the floors to dry. It's best to use an exterior grade paint, and if you want real durability, I would suggest and oil-based enamel. You may want to prime the floors first. I suggest
Painting a wood floor can be a less expensive alternative to refinishing your floors. What's great about painting wood flooring is that it works just as well for modern homes as it does for traditional homes. It's a pretty

I'm wondering if you might tell me what kind of flooring this is? The wood and stain, preferably. Thanks so much! A gorgeous space.
What is the actual stain color of the floors- I love the brown - thanks!
The floors are 2-1/2" wide by 3/4" thick tongue and groove quarter sawn white oak with a custom dark stain and satin finish laid in a chevron pattern. Since the stain was custom, we do not have the specific color.

1920s Kitchen Remodel
glass fronts, pattern tile mixed with white tile
Islas started off with the San Felipe pattern floor tile and picked a Spanish tile for the backsplash. A palette of terra cottas, whites and teal accents felt like a natural fit. Islas used the teal on the cabinetry, tile and window seat fabric to tie the room together. "After" photos: David Young-Wolff
1920s roots of this sweet Los Angeles home, designer Erica Islas played off classic but cheerful turquoise in this colorful kitchen. The San Felipe–pattern floor tile inspired the Spanish backsplash tile, which in turn evolved into a palette of terra-cottas, whites and teals.

Hi Tracey, I'm attempting to replicate these floors. Can you share type of marble and where I might purchase?
what kind of floor tile is this? Is it natural stone high gloss or man made?
I know what I covet having spoken with interior designer from Utah (J. Scott Anderson) who worked on a Cameo home with similar alternating diamond pattern. They were kind enough to share spec's. I simply am unable to source for 3 weeks. I even attempted to work with tile shop! It's the Lycian Collection
This was indeed a beautiful floor - however it has since fallen under the hammer of a remodel......

Love, love, love the "trippy" floor! What a nifty space to stash your mini fridge.
design of the flooring here would not have been out of place in the art deco age.
This floor is an Escher-like pattern of diamonds and squares that become 3-D boxes. It has the traditional feel of Middle Eastern design in a wholly modern setting.
7. Patterned flooring. Linoleum flooring made an appearance
Get this look: Linoleum and vinyl floors are still popular today, thanks to their low price tag and easy installation. Get creative with your installation by mixing tiles to create a dramatic pattern. If you don't like the idea of linoleum, look for art deco patterns in other materials — like the clay
