Actually, the mulch around the pavers was intended stictly as a temporary measure until we could get some grass established around the pavers. So, I suppose this could be dog-friendly once the turf is established. I wouldn't do pebbles, as these would be kicked up onto the stones

Other artificial grass brands either have holes punched into the back for drainage or have to come to complete saturation before draining, absorbing bacteria, allergens, urine and other materials before draining.
