Tell me about the faucet - Hi! I love the faucet, and I was wondering who makes it, how much it costs and whether you are happy with it. Does it leak? How is the pressure? Any complaints or things you love about it? »
Bill Fry Construction - Wm. H. Fry Const. Co. This question was responded to previously, you can learn a lot about a project by looking at the answers!
"Both sink faucets were from Ikea."
I love all the natural light in this kitchen - especially the clerestory windows.

naturalmom5 Thanks, Rhoda! :) As I always do when I have a question, I did read the response to the other question, but it didn't answer ALL the questions I had about it, which is why I posted my own. Perhaps the person whose kitchen this is can answer for me, or someone else who has that exact same faucet, and not just something similar, if that's possible. Thanks, though! :)
Leeanne H. could you tell me how to achieve the same finish on my butcher block lunch counter. It's a "BOOS" butcher block. Some one told me that they come with a oil in them. does that mean that I can't give it a finish.

Van Wicklen Design unless you mean which one in the picture?? the Calcutta Gold marble island top was purchased at A G & M in Austin. The butcher block was the only counter purchased from IKEA.
Van Wicklen Design We had those counters for four yrs and they looked great when we sold the house....I'm sure they're still looking great.....
before we used Waterlox we had to use mineral oil all the time....but once we learned about Waterlox I'm not sure if we ever had to use the mineral oil again or not....if we did, it was only once in a blue moon....Waterlox seals them to look great always.
Van Wicklen Design Both sink faucets were from Ikea. (not sure if they still sell that particular model though)
(one is large and the other a veg sink size)
The sink was also from Ikea and I don't believe they sell that one anymore either.
The refrigerator is a Pro Series refrigerator/freezer from Kenmore.
The oven is a Viking.
Is there anyway to figure out about how wide this kitchen is?
I have one room 16.2 ft x 26ft that I need to fit my kitchen, dining and living area into.
With a 16.2 ft width....is it possible to fit an L-Shaped kitchen with working island in middle (3ft deep) x 6ft long and dining room table on the side of island (also running lengthwise). Or do I just forget the island idea and go for a dining room table right in the space?
Thoughts? I am in a space saving dilemma.

Ruth Vallejos While I concur with bepsf, to answer your first question it appears this kitchen is about 14-15' wide. There seems to be a nice functional relationship between the whale, I mean the giant refrigerator/freezer, the stove and the prep sink in the island. But what is the purpose of the counters with the big sink? And where do you store dishes?
With an overall room of 16.2' x 26' there are a few ways to think of zoning the space. But we are really going to need to know about doors, windows, and how this room fits in with the exterior of the house and the rest of the house. After all - it's going to be the heart of the whole house, right?
A double-duty towel bar on this island keeps towels hidden from guests in the living room, and is closer to the sink in case the one hanging near there isn't enough for a sudden spill.
This cozy kitchen looks very high-end, but Van Wicklen made some shrewd money-saving moves. While the island's surface is Calcutta Gold marble, the bulk of the counters are butcher block from IKEA. The pantry doors (on the left side of the picture) were once off-the-rack paneled doors; she had the panels cut out and replaced with glass. The walls are covered with horizontal pine planks and the floors are original.
The far end of this shot shows the cozy breakfast room. As you might guess from the ceiling, it used to be a small screened-in porch. "It was a dusty little spot no one ever used," she says. The Van Wicklens also added the high windows to bring in more natural light.

same idea, i like the industrial metals contrasting with the warm wood tones of the floor and the butcher block counter as well as teh light faced cabinets and contrasting countertop island
