Habitat Design groundcover is a great way to hold the soil in place. The shallow roots take hold and keep the soil in place. Also look really good as a finishing touch.

Woodburn & Company Landscape Architecture, LLC We're blessed with well draining sandy loam on this site, we lose the mulch from time to time, but not usually the soil.

Sometimes, the simplest solution is the most attractive one. Here, a wide band of lawn turns this side yard into a pleasant journey, connecting two shade gardens for a finished composition.
