I really like this idea for my boys room. Its a great use of space without it feeling stuffy, often the way I think bunk beds make a room feel. I can see wonderful shelves above each bed for each one of their personal belongings.

Cornering identical twin beds can be a nice alternative to bunk beds. They symmetrically and pleasantly line the room. They become a kind of daybed couch for each child, for daytime study and play. At night, with heads only inches apart, they can recount the day together as they fall asleep.

The corner bed setting allows for more floor space. Great for small rooms and can help with the kids bonding (or not)...

Flanking the beds along the wall gives a less traditional and more casual look, and open up more floor space, which is great for a child's room or smaller guest space. For my son's and daughter's shared bedroom (2 and 5 years) I put their twin beds along the wall as beds at night, an enormous couch in the day. It keeps the room clean and surprisingly Paris-salon-style, gives them room to play, and: they LOVE it.

While the beds in this houzz favorite photo also provide storage beneath, the same effect can be created by simply placing twin mattresses on simple frames. This is brilliant in a child's room where sharp corners and heights to fall from in sleep can become a concern. In the "Toddler Pad" in our home, we placed two twins along the length of the longest wall, creating a very long, very bouncy couch.

In most two-bed rooms, the beds are side-by-side, which I like. But I also like the idea of the heads of the beds touching. It makes for a big space to play in the room and makes me think of good sleepovers, late nights and lots of giggling and secrets.
