Hi. Can you tell me what you used for the outdoor flooring in this picture? We have a screen porch 800 sqft. on the second floor of our stilt home that currently has indoor outdoor. I don't really want to use tile. Occasionally we get some rain that blows in. I would like wood, but don't know how practical it would be. »
Webber + Studio, Architects ipe is very water /rot resistant but difficult to work with because of it's hardness.
The finish is natural, but oiled. The darker tones fade if left un-oiled.
One of the most striking elements of the home are the wood slats covering sections of the deck and rails. They allow breezes to pass through while still providing the structures with a substantial presence.
I like the contemporary architecture of this partially covered deck. It's a very serene look. Recessed ceiling lights and a ceiling fan are included as well as plenty of high-quality outdoor furniture.
