2Stone Designer Concrete If you like the seamless look for a backsplash, try concrete! Check out the seamless backsplash in our photo gallery under kitchens at www.2stone.ca. It's one of my favorite applications of our product. There is no grouts lines just one seamless beautiful piece!
Webber + Studio, Architects Thanks for your comment on the Limestone countertop. The person to speak with is the man who created them for the project Berthold Haas.
There is information on his web site, and he is a pleasure to work with!
Can you please tell me about this pic. Is it laminate, real wood? What kind of wood is shown? Stained? Natural? Anything you can share with me would be helpful.
Thanks »
Webber + Studio, Architects The cabinets are solid white oak with a custom stained limestone countertop by Berthold Haas http://www.bertholdhaasdesign.com
In the kitchen, rift-sawn white oak cabinetry provides warmth against a cool stainless steel backsplash. The counters are made of Texas limestone done with a stain- and pigment-infused wax sealing process that was hand applied by a local artisan.
Kitchen island pendants can be a bit tricky; they need to be scaled and spaced correctly, and sometimes you wonder if you are breaking some sacred "Rule of Three." I tried to envision three pendants here, and it seemed unbalanced. As designer Paul Anater says, "the Rule of Three takes a back seat to scale, always."
More on choosing and placing kitchen island lights.
Rift-sawn Oak. It's modern, but still classic. The vertical grain softens the modern-ness. Horizontal grain would make this same wood feel much more modern than it looks here.
