Would this design work in a basement? - One of the focal points of this office in my opinion is the window. I have only small windows in my basement. Can you offer any suggestions for modifications to this design to make this office work in a basement? I LOVE this space, by the way!!! :} »
Chelle Design Group This would definitely work in a basement. the clean bright colors would enliven the space. If you have small basement windows you can use shutters to completely cover the entire window plus some of the wall so they look full size. Then you can even put a light behind them so it appears as if there is daylight. One of my favorite tricks!
Is the paint color in this room BM limestone 513? If not what is the name? I am also looking for a light airy seafoam green/blue color to compliment an opposite wall. Do you have suggestions? Someone said Sea Salt.... »
Chelle Design Group Honestly. I do not recommend choosing paint colors from a computer monitor. I would pullout a paint deck and go to the section that looks close and then check it in the light of the project room. Colors will look different from room to room, house to house, which direction it faces and what time of day it is. Do you have overhead lighting? task lighting? A combination of lighting? All factors that will impact your color choice. And anyone that tells you that they can pinpoint a color from a picture that was downloaded to a website should not be specifying paint colors.
Chelle Design Group I found all the furniture in this room! The desk, file credenza and the bookcases are from Bradshaw Kirchoffer. I will tag them on the photo
Using color is an easy way to define your style, but in a neutral space, accessories can speak volumes about one's design style. In this space, an elegant mirror, a delicate, crystal chandelier and fresh flowers reveal a look that is feminine and lavish.
This office has a completely different look than the last two, but uses the same technique of flanking two taller storage units tight against either side of a center item — in this case a cabinet. The white starburst mirror adds to the cohesiveness of this grouping.
16. While the layout of this desk space has a slightly executive feel, readers loved the crafty touches in this home office. The combination of bookshelves, mirror, and the chandelier work perfectly with the white and spring-green color choices.
Get the best of both worlds by having a credenza that will give you hidden room for office supplies and an extra work space, flanked by bookcases, that will give you more storage.
We could do this for our new office with two of our existing shelving, just need to find a low piece for the middle. Add a darker color paint or wallpaper to make the space more masculine and find a good desk.
