High ceilings are great for any hanging solution, whether decorative or functional. Fans hung low in tall spaces work well because the increased space between the ceiling and the blades allows air to circulate more effectively while adding an interesting element to open spaces.
This room is fairly spacious, but this trick is also great for small spaces: if you can’t squeeze in any more substantial furniture, get an ottoman instead. They take up little room and are portable, making them ideal for extra seating throughout the room.
these aren't too bad. big pieces of brown wood suspended from the ceiling? what will that really look like? i don't my eye drawn to a fan unless the fan is spectacular and i've yet to see one that is.
maybe move the brass chandelier from the dining area to the living area and put something else over table. the advantage to keeping the chandelier where it is and lowering it is that it a gorgeous chandelier; the advantage to moving it is the same.
maybe give up on ceiling fans entirely.
I love this because you can't tell if it's a 10K square foot house or a 1200 square foot duplex. Just looks tasteful, modern and comfortable. And most importantly, achievable of you have the right set up.
