mmonika If your planning on keeping your pine walls and wood flooring as-is, it might start to get a bit dark if you also paint your cabinets dark. Have you considered painting your pine walls in a semi-gloss white/cream/off white to start with?
But to answer your question, yes, you can paint cabinets. They will require good quality hard waring paint and mostly your time and patience. All the cabinets will need to be removed, cleaned extremely well and then sanded to remove the finish coat on them now.

myhouse385 here is the other side of kitchen with knotty pine wainscoting and oak floor... I did not paint the cabinets... I had them spray lacquered inside and out (in place) by a furniture refinishing company. It was cheap. Cleaning 60+ years of grime would have been impossible. Also cabinets were built in place. You could not have removed them as 1 cabinet was 70" long.
