allmarie I don't think they're black tiles. They look like stainless steel tiles. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer is Alloyed Decor. It looks like their 3x6 subway tile. Their website is www.alloyeddecor.com.
does the microwave door hit the wall? are there cables to prevent the cabinet door from hitting the same wall?
it's hard to see how the microwave can be used from the side. »
Rebekah Zaveloff I doubt there's anything to keep the door from hitting the wall - but it's not that different from installing a refrigerator up against a wall. You can easily stand at the countertop with your hip against the corner and use the microwave, though of course it's not as easy-access as something right in front of you.
mousemaker i was just thinking that the microwave handle would hit either the tile or the window frame--esp. if something hot is being lifted out and you need two hands for it--and then it's kind of an awkward stance if you are leaning sideways? i guess i'm concerned about safety and it just looks a bit off to me :)
Pratt and Larson Ceramics It looks like it could be Pratt & Larson's Metro Bevel tile in C603 which is a metallic glaze. The metro bevel comes in a 3x6 and a 4x8 and is available in any of our glazes. Visit www.prattandlarson.com or call us for more info 503.231.9464.

Masculine and grounded to tradition. Simple Shaker-style cabinets in a warm wood are mixed with graphite-gray subway tile and black granite counters. I picture this kitchen in a stylish bachelor pad.
Like the rustic yet contemporary look. Would go well with counter - change knobs? add glass to a couple of cupboard doors. grount should be a silverly grey.
