Kerrie L. Kelly We are obsessed too! The is actually the home of Ronald Reagan when he was Governor of California. We don't have images of the interior today, but you may be able to find some vintage images online. Good luck!
hello, i would ike to know what kind of ceiling tile has the house? looks amazing, i am building a brand new house, almost done, just i need decide the tile and principal door, thanks »
David Ludwig - Architect This roof is definitely terra cotta, it looks like flat pans and arched caps in a multi-colored selection. This is difficult to match. You might be able to find an old salvaged tile roof from Europe, otherwise you will need to do a good color mix.
This is a very expensive and very HEAVY roof, your engineer will need to verify that your roof framing can take the load.
There are a lot of custom old world doors in the market. I challenge my clients who want a double door as they do not function as well as they look. You wind up only opening one of the 2 panels with every day use. I prefer using a single 42" wide door, centered, and adding side lites and/or transome to bring light into the entry.
Ronald Reagan's old California residence shows us that if your bricks are painted, paint the body of your home in the same shade. This guarantees that siding and garage door colors will harmonize with the fixed feature and give you nice curb appeal.
Tip: Use a stained front door to create warmth when using a monochromatic body color.
