I am wanting to use this same color, except I have a dark brown roof and want to use dark grey as the foundation color and then bring that same grey onto the shutters.....what do you think? I'll have a cranberry door and incorporate cream somewhere. Any suggestions??? »
Anne DeCocco I see on the green tag that the house color is Artichoke by Dunn, but no longer available (how can a color be no longer available?). Looking at Ben Moore, I see Hampshire Gray/HC-01 and Gettysburg Gray/HC-107 that look similar. Remember that the color will look lighter outside on the house, so go darker. For a dark gray foundation color, I like Gunmetal/1602. Keep the trim white, as it looks great with these dark colors and try Maple Leaf Red/2084-20 in high gloss on the door for a welcoming entrance.
The Craftsman style of the early 20th century sported a darker, earthier color scheme using deep browns, greens and reds. The current popularity of the style is making more homeowners consider richer color schemes.
