This transitional open space serves as a library, home office and lounge area.

The bamboo floor and other natural elements seen in the furniture is balanced by the black steel window frames and staircase. Notice the roller shades hung above the windows. When the sun hits this side of the house these must surely be a necessity.

Designing with the slope resulted in a multi-level home with a continuous ceiling. Like the entry, this study sits at mid-grade between the garage and the master bedroom, and thus enjoys a very high ceiling. Glass railings keep the views open, and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves add to the warmth of the space. Randolph used Fine Line flooring throughout, a product created by putting together long thin strips of scrap wood.

Here the architect made the most of an open space with a library lounge in a level in between floors.

This library is also situated in spot with a transitional elevation within the floor plan. The architect must have taken careful notes on how to maximize the natural light while keeping the room sheltered from direct sunlight. See the rest of this home
