COASTROAD Hearth & Patio Since no one has chimed in, I'm going to venture an educated guess.
It appears to be a woodburning fireplace with glass doors, with the entire face covered with non-combustible material in the same finish as the wall. This can be done with a masonry fireplace or manufactured firebox.
This house in Malibu, California includes a large living room that fits with the size and scale of the house (at about 8,000 square feet). Also an L-shaped plan like the previous photo, the space here is illuminated by glass on both sides; an elevated walkway traverses the space. Note what appear to be roller shades at the top of the windows on the right; sunshading like this definitely requires a motor and remote control.
Like the high ceilings - could build the second story on either end of the house with the center left open (?) to create this effect on RG project - want to avoid the "cat walk" concept to connect the areas though. Could be an enclosed hallway rather than an open cat walk with big rectangular windows.
My idea for the greatroom. My thought, however would be that the kitchen would be under the mezzanine.
The mezz would wrap behind the fireplace and access to it would be from behind the fireplace wall.
