david phillips .
The project was completed late in 2007, which my records no longer exist for the product selections. My best suggestion is to select and print the best photo, then research the web for local decorators or lighting showrooms.
The lights are of a similar design to the fixtures mounted on either side of the entry door.
and if you looking for a variety in style at a reasonable budget the "artisan series" from
http://artisandoorworks.com/ overhead garage doors is worth your review.
I do not have the specific information on file for this 2007 project.
I would suggest you visit the listed web sites, then contact your builder or local garage door subcontractor who will be able to review the anticipated size, the motor and tracking system for the garage door manufacture and style you select. Providing them type of door is just part of the cost.
The true cost will be able to be determined, based on the scope of work, and the available products in you area. Both the door cost with the track and motor, along with the labor cost will give you the total cost of the door.
david phillips The wood shutters shown, were custom made by SEAPORT SHUTTERS in the State of Massachusetts. They have two locations, both owned by Peter Malone. Contact phone number is 508-653-5535. I do not have a web contact address.
david phillips We have utilized "overhead" type door for many years.
The brand names such as http://artisandoorworks.com/,
http://www.designerdoors.com/ and if you looking for a variety in style at a reasonable budget the http://artisandoorworks.com/ overhead garage doors are worth your review.
We have never utilized out-swing or in-swing type doors on the custom homes shown in the photographs I have posted on the site.
The overhead style doors take the place of your old style door.
You will not need to have the front or rear of the door space clear for the swing type door to have shown.
I believe that to be a major advantage for interior space of the garage for in-swing doors and exterior snow for the exterior swing style. You will need to research and discuss with your builder the cost for the door and installation. Most doors offer the look and insulation values exceeding the old carriage house style door.
rbcola David - Thank you for your professional insight regarding garage doors. We're preparing to break ground and I'm in the process of determining exterior finishes. Primary is a Dryvit (Pebble Finish w/Pure Cream color) and a base of cream/w red undertones traditional sized brick. The home design is a neoclassical/french chateau influence and I like a dark wood stain/color for the front entry door and complimentary garage doors. Is there a metal door that offers the "look" of the dark wood door (w/benefits of low maintenance/durability/cost?). I'm looking for a discussion that will allow me to consider pros/cons between the 2 materials in choosing doors. Thanks for your thoughts.
lawbear Thank you for your thorough response.....my question is more general...I have a lake lot that measures 80-85 feet across and 200 feet deep...I just wanted to see if House and
garage as shown in the picture would fit on my lot
david phillips The overall width is 90 feet. The overall depth is 100 feet.
The house can be modified to meet your life style, the views, and anticipated budget.
I generate my revenues based on design and consultation work.
Continuation on the future participation to assist in your project will need to be discussed.
david phillips Since completion of the project, I do not hold the records for more then a year, I believe you can go to your builder or call you local lumber yard to obtain a brochure on the colors available for the MIABEC brand shingle. This will allow you to obtain the best color selection for your project.
david phillips Sorry for the delay, as I tried to find the proper information in the file. I could not find the specific color, but as I remember the product selection was a MAYBECK pre-finished r/r/ red cedar shingle. The term R/R represents the shingles were re-sawn and rebutted to minimize variations.
david phillips The exterior products are all original products. The exterior siding was bought as R/R [re-sawn and rebutted], red cedar shingles. The shingles were pre-drip by the manufacture to assure coverage on all surfaces. This also allowed any shrinkage in the real cedar shingles would not expose any unfinished surfaces between the shingles.
Even though this is a gargage, not the full house, the color palette and great detail in the design would be very attractive for the entire structure. Don't care for the cupola.
