The ladder in this room emphasizes the staggering height of it even more. I wonder; do the owners slide the furniture over to the other side of the room when they make a fire?

Sometimes, a ladder is all that's necessary - I love this one, attached to a tall bookcase. I think ladders are very cool, too, climbing up to loft bedrooms in vacation cabins or modern apartments. The only downside is that they can be difficult to navigate...especially after a few cocktails.
