Of course don't let the absence of an actual window seat to encourage strategically placing seating by window areas. These chairs don't have the cush of some of the above window seats, but are still comfortable enough to invite a sort of settling in.
The thing that I love here is that these chairs are complimented by the art work that hangs on the wall here. They look like the kind of chairs that you wouldn't use all that often but you might sit there to sketch for awhile by the window and you'd certainly fill those seats with guests when entertaining in your home. The modern style doesn't suggest comfort so much as an artsy edge which is perfect for a chair serving this type of function.
The painting isn't that big, I just really like this room, from the view to the chairs. The neutral palette gives the Jack the Dripper-type painting's colors a chance to stand out.
