Huestis Tucker Architects, LLC Thanks for your comments. Are you saying your hearthstone would be 2" and the wood floor would be 1/2"? If so, yes you can make this work. Your floor installers can put a piece of beveled wood next to the hearth to make the transition. Or if the space is large enough and it wouldn't be a tripping hazard, you could just allow the hearth to be different height than wood floor.
