Can you tell me about the vanity? Als, are there more detailed pictures of it? - Is it custom? Whatever info you can provide would be appreciated. I want to have a contemporary vanity with clean lines like this, undercounter sinks. Thank you. »
patrickmm I like how the vanity light is mounted through the mirror, however, it seems to me the horizontal lines would be cleaner if the mirror was the same height as the window frame. Also like the vanity top, is that quartz, or Corian? very clean and fresh looking.
MP DESIGN Interior Architecture + Interior Design Anybody have a local Bay Area source for the gorgeous stone tile? Is is really a marble or rather a limestone? Thanks!
tile looks wrong broken up with grout - I think this would be a lot better without the grout lines breaking up the tile. it should have been installed like a mosaic, without the "tile lines" and it would look like a singular piece of stone. It is beautiful but that was a boneheaded move. »
Fabulous wall tile! - What would be the minimum dimensions of a shower area where you would use this size tile? My ceilings are only 7 1/2 feet in height, and the shower enclosure walls needing tile measure only 3 1/2 ' x 5'. Thank you. »
Mike Connell The shower in this master bathroom is actually smaller than yours. The large scale of the tile works well, perhaps because the wall tile wraps around the room and into the shower, with a frameless shower enclosure.
Mike Connell The bathtub is Kohler's "Tea for Two" and is widely available. I like its elegant simplicity, and is available in a couple different sizes.
I like the attractive and functional continuation of the countertop to the tub area, very nice.
Seeing the volume of questions on this impressive bathroom reminds me that the whole is truly greater than the sum of the parts. And while we can figure out what all the components are of a great space, there is no substitute for having a great architect or designer on board to pull it all together.
Mike Connell Bill Fry's suggestions are good ones. In this bathroom, we used Altman's Greco faucets in satin nickel.
I also use Kohler's "Memoirs Stately" bathroom fixtures, particularly in historical applications.
Ellessebee I, too, love that tile but need to use porcelain, not natural stone. I'd like to find the Savoia Velvet mentioned above but can't find a retailer in my area. Does anyone know where I might find it in the NYC area?

Mike Connell I don't know if you have Ann Sacks Tile & Stone in Canada, but they call it "Athens Silver Cream." We have also see similar slabs called "Haisa." I hope this helps.
Mike Connell Hey Sandyvk:
The tile is a marble from Ann Sacks Stone & Tile called "Athens Silver Cream." We have also seen a similar stone in slab form which was called "Haisa."
kattee55 I put this ( sold to me as marble) in my bathroom and am having a heck of a time finding a floor that will compliment the many hues. I wish I could see the floor in this picture.
mightysprite Could you upload a pic that shows the contrast of the floor tile alongside the wall tile and vanity front? I, too, am very curious to see what would tie in well with the wall tile. Thanks!
Mike Connell We got the light sconces on-line at Wayfair. They are made by Minka Lavery, and are very reasonably priced. Restoration Hardware also has similar lighting.
Mike Connell It does look similar to Provenza Q, but it is a natural marble, and is available at Ann Sacks, called Athens Silver Cream. We have also seen similar slabs called "Haisa."
lovedesign67 I have this floor in my living room, from a recent renovation. It is called "nublado" and we found at a stone place in New York City. It's a honed marble. Beautiful.

design layout? - why is the cut piece along the bottom row!! as a tilesetter was always taught the cut piece of tile should go next to the ceiling?? also shouldn't the mirror be centered to the window trim or even be level to the top of the trim!! »
Could you describe the type of flooring used? - Although not visible in this photo, could you please describe the flooring used in this bathroom so that we can visualize the entire space? Type, and color, size of tiles, etc. would be most helpful. It's gorgeous! »
Floor Tile? - I love the way this tile looks in the shower and I'm wondering what you used to match it for tile on the floor? Thanks so much for your help! »
This is a wonderful tile tub surround. The natural stone or porcelain tile is set with a 50 percent offset, which is very popular in today's bathrooms. That said, this style is not suggested by the TCNA with a tile that has an edge longer than 18 inches, unless a mock-up is prepared and signed off on by the client. Tip: Prepare a test board to see how your tile will look once it's installed. Determining the quality of the tile or stone and preparing the tile sample board will go a long way toward getting what you want.
8. Stunning tilework in San Francisco. Houzz readers loved the large-format tile in this bathroom. The visually striking tile grain draws the eyes along the stone-covered space.
