Houzz is the new way to design your home.
Coast Construction Company
This property is a very large, tri-level brown shingle, craftsman-style home. It was severely damaged by fire. The entire roof structure was burned off, there was a tremendous amount of exterior damage which necessitated re-siding the entire home, almost the entire upper floor was gutted and rebuilt including two very elaborate bathrooms, the kitchen was redone, and a tremendous amount of cosmetic refurbishing on the ground floor was needed. All of the interior finish work including trim, doors, windows, bathrooms, and Mission-style kitchen were completely redesigned to fit with the architectural design of the home. The most interesting aspect of the project involved the matching and restoration of all of the clear Douglas fir, dark stained, elaborate trim and cabinetry on the lower floor. Tremendous work went into saving much of this finish material due to its high value, with replacement pieces fabricated to match exactly, and then everything on the entry level completely refinished. This was another project that was more of a historical restoration than it was a repair job.
