Smith & Vansant Architects PC The exterior colors of the Shingle Style house were chosen on site with a local interiors/color firm, dpf of White River Jct. VT. Colors that work at one locale may not look the same elsewhere, as natural light, vegetation, and materials vary, and adjacent colors affect how it all works. They pick up the colors of the natural slate roof and the stone walls. And of course what looks one way on the computer screen in a shot by a professional photographer will look different in person. Our Project Manager for this job cautions that these trim colors on their own will look blue, green, and gray.
The siding is red cedar, pre-primed in semi-transparent at the factory in Cabot Beechwood Gray. Then a single coat of Semi-transparent Cabot Pepperwood was applied.
The rest of the colors are Benjamin Moore paints.
The windows are wood, in "Cottage Red" Ready Mix, not clad aluminum. BM no longer stocks the RM colors, or has them in the new color chips, but they will still mix them.
tannerbug Its hard to tell... but in looking at other pictures of this project, it looks to be either, natural slate, or synthetic slate... For synthetic slate check out inspireroofing.com, or certainteed, and look at Symphony slate... Good luck, I honestly feel in natural slate, check out Vermont slate!
