vbahstork We have this fan in our screened porch in the oil-rubbed bronze. We absolutely adore it. It is made by Minka-Aire and we found it at a local lighting fixture dealer.
Rebekah Zaveloff That actually looks like a polished Marron granite...but honed granite can definitely work, you just want to make sure you see a sample first. I prefer tight crystals in honed granite rather than larger ones.
Here's what's referred to as a dual rotational ceiling fan. Hmmm, I wonder where it gets its name? Probably the duo of fans that rotate. Yeah, I'll go with that. This option is a great way to sport the vintage-industrial style and keep yourself cool at the same time. These often run at a higher price, but they're worth it. Not having an eyesore smack in the middle of your ceiling is worth a pretty penny. Interior designer Debbie Weiner hit the nail on the head: "Design suicide? What could be worse than sweating in your own home? Your husband is right and the designers who tell you otherwise place appearance before comfort and that's not good design, that's vanity."Those of us who are a little vain can still win with ceiling fans, because their design has come a very long way in the past few years. This fan is a sculptural work of art.
Anytime there is a doorway, I would like a transom window..I will fill with leaded glass later. Also the trim of the transom window could be a stained wood color for contrast.
