trim?? - Is it ok to put dark wood trim around the kitchen windows ( if the cabinets are white) to keep the same look as darker baseboards and other trim through out the house? Can you make just the kitchen windows a white trim? Want to use a medium to darker wood flooring with variation to the color.and darker wood trim and doors. »
Rebekah Zaveloff It's hard to tell if that's a granite like white granite or quartzite. Stone is called by different names from region to region so best to show your the picture to your supplier.
Stewart Culler Very perceptive. I wouldn't say we stole it. The homeowner wanted that look and Downsview wasn't available in this area at that time. Plus, the homeowner wanted Amish made cabinetry, which we offer, so the Amish duplicated the Downsview look.
Rebekah Zaveloff There isn't one kind that's necessarily better than another. If the home already has oak floor throughout, I usually do the kitchen in a matching wood. In older homes you occasionally see maple in the kitchen and oak or fir in the main living spaces. If you're doing new construction, it's a matter of taste - you can do anything you want. It depends on if you like a light or dark finish. Personally I like oak or distressed, reclaimed wood - both take a beating in a high traffic space.
What is the type of tile used on the Backsplash? Thanks - Looks like a tumbled crema, but it looks really white with gray hue. Looking for something simple, yet elegant to match delicatus. »
