Liquidscapes Rodney, sorry, but I did it verbally with my carpenter at my home. Not a practice I follow with my clients. I just knew what I wanted and explained it very clearly, with some quick sketches on a napkin. If you show a carpenter this picture, they should be able to figure it out, but it should be on paper. Sorry!

Liquidscapes A combination of Azek (which is a synthetic) for the horizontal boards that are exposed to the weather more and a clear red cedar (seasoned/dry) for the vertical boards.

We have used fiberglass for the columns and powder coated aluminum as well for some or for the entire structure. It depends on the look you want, level of maintenance, budget, size and span of the structure.

My recommendation is speak to your local carpenters, builders and deck installers who work with the material, not suppliers who want to sell you their product.

PS. I'll send you an image of a pergola we did in aluminum. The one above at my home is all made in clear cedar and I am having some issues in the joints where water can wick in and sit, before draining and bleeding out. They didn't have Azek when I built my pergola.
