Cue by Janice Kerbel

CUE is part of a series of silkscreen prints inspired by Janice Kerbel's process in creating her theatrical production Kill the Workers! for the Chisenhale Gallery in 2011. In the performance, stage lighting acts as both the protagonist and the technical support for a dramatic play. Drawing on the scripted “cue changes” for the lights in the play, Kerbel describes these prints as representing a “state of light,” recounting “visibility’s desire to find form through the voice of light.”
