Susan Deneau Interior Design Thank you for the lovely compliment! This Powder Room was 3' wide and 9' long..so the width of the vanity is 3', the actual vanity was mounted at a height of (I believe) 32". I seem to recall that the thickness (total height) of the cabinet was 10" (2" each for wood @ top and bottom, 6" interior space). Proportions really were chosen based on the size/space of this particular room.
Susan Deneau Interior Design Hello, I believe the mirror had keyhole mounts on the back and 2 screws were drilled into the tile (using a drill bit for glass tile) and the keyhole openings were hung on screws. It's been awhile since that project was done and I can't honestly recall the exact details, but I think that's pretty accurate... Thanks for your inquiry!
Susan Deneau Interior Design Hello, If you click on the green "More Info" tab below photo, additional info is given about the custom vanity. Sliding frosted glass doors conceal storage area - no drawers. Thanks for your interest!
Susan Deneau Interior Design Not sure why that bottom tab isn't visible? I'll check with Houzz to see if there is some sort of problem... I had answered the previous inquiry via private email - the info is as follows: "Powder Room featuring Erin Adams glass mosaic tile on wall (from Ann Sacks). Kohler stainless steel vessel sink & wall mounted faucet. Espresso stained Alder wood custom floating counter with sliding frosted glass panels to conceal storage."
This bath was completed several years ago - I believe Ann Sacks still carries this tile? It is (was) priced at $125 per sq. ft. (it's hand cut glass mosaic).

I know that since this tile line debuted 8-9 yrs. ago, many other companies offer a similar style at a less expensive price point. I hope this has been helpful - Susan Deneau
Susan Deneau Interior Design The original (pre-renovation) toilet was used - a simple white Kohler model....can't recall the exact name/style. And flooring was also original to the room - it was a simple cream limestone, which might not have been my first choice for the design, but it worked well with the new surface materials & fixtures. The only lighting was 2 simple recessed ceiling lights. This room was only 3' x 9', with a pocket door. Didn't require much to illuminate it and I didn't want to clutter up the feature wall with a pair of sconces. Thanks so much for your inquiry and lovely compliment!
Susan Deneau Interior Design Brand is Kohler (same as sink). I believe the faucet style/model is called Falling Water. It can be found on Kohler's website, I'm sure. Thanks for your interest!
Is the sink made of brass or any other metal? - I have seen many sinks in these colors...is this one made of brass? n if yes then how to maintain the brass metals shine as its color changes right..and are the drawers made of frosted glass..to give it a transperancy? »
Susan Deneau Interior Design I don't know why that is not showing up for some people?? I have to contact Houzz to see if that can be fixed... Did you have a specific question that I can help with Myra?
Emily Hurley Hi Myra, Are you viewing the photo in the app? If so, click on the photo to go back to it outside the question view and you should see "info" on that screen. Tap there for details provided by the professional. Sorry about that!
Susan Deneau Interior Design Thank you so much for the lovely compliment - so very appreciated! I know there are ways to mount a floating cabinet without using angle supports underneath -- the piece in this bathroom photo was something that I custom designed & had made, but there are many brands/manufacturers who make even larger floating vanity cabinets that have mounting systems to the back wall. I have used Tonusa products several times and they are larger pieces and mount cleanly. Check out their website and click on the Info button to view their installation directions. A good finish carpenter should be able to install something custom for you without using any visible supports.
Susan Deneau Interior Design Hello - thanks for your interest & inquiry! Please see the detailed photo description (click on the green "more info" link below photo) for the specs on where the glass tile is from. Hard to offer any specific advice on your bathroom without having any info - size, shape, current surface materials, etc. Usually, updating the plumbing & light fixtures to a more modern style is a quick and easy way to give bathrooms a facelift!
more mirror? - the mirror is really sharp! i was wondering,i have a closet door in the powder room would it be too much to put a door lenth mirror on it as well as have the mirror over the vassel?? »
Susan Deneau Interior Design Thank you for the kind words and your inquiry! It's hard to say, without knowing the dimensions and shape of the room - what is located opposite the closet door, etc. Don't know that a full length mirror is really necessary to have in a Powder Room, but (as in many aspects of design) that's a personal choice....
Susan Deneau Interior Design Hi - the wall color is Benjamin Moore "Misty Memories" #2118-60. It's a pale, muted blue-violet gray. Keep in mind this color may look very different in your application - this room had no natural light at all. It would most likely change quite a bit if used in a space with more and/or a different type of lighting. Thanks for your inquiry!
Laura ODonnell Is there any concern about water damage to the wood top on the vanity? Are there other alternative tops that would give a similarly clean look that might be more durable? And would it be too cheesy to put a clear glass top over the finished wood to protect it?
The wood is protected from water damage by the application of several coats of a water proof sealer/protectant - the same kind used on yachts & boats. This makes it impervious to water - it will bead up if spilled on the surface. That eliminates the need for using a piece of glass over the wood. Any type of material used for counters could be substituted- Caesarstone, Silestone, etc., but those wouldn't give the same warm appearance and feel as wood - still nothing that can copy that!
Thanks for your inquiry....
Susan Deneau Interior Design Hello - The mirror was purchased from Room & Board a few years ago (it's been discontinued & is no longer available). I had the wood pieces along the sides stained to match the custom wooden counter top.
Invest in pretty accessories. Details always matter, especially in a pint-size room. Counter space in powder baths is limited or nonexistent, so make soap dishes, trays and other accents count.
This could be our powder room - very similar to what we did a few years back. We painted the walls a soft yellow which was surprisingly warm and inviting.
