coryberz I love the one I have - got it on etsy (realwoodworks1). I like c&b too but if I can support small business... Just ordered a custom dining table for 16x. http://etsy.me/10qxF5e
Borgnes-Giramonti created this table from a stump purchased at an Asian import store and a glass top she had custom made. The lamp is from Anthropologie.
Get your feet wet with a simple tablescape. A tablescape is a good place to start when experimenting with your collecting abilities. I would imagine this person might be able to sing "My Favorite Things" with regard to the objects on this table.
Serving bowls. Today's serving bowls come in a variety of colors, styles and patterns, so instead of hiding their charm beneath a pile of fruit, just let them be in all their glory. They're also a great object to place on a console near the front door to catch your keys (as long as you can resist cluttering it with junk mail).
This example of burled wood is so large it takes on the dimensions of a round dining table. The owner still chose to use it as an end table of sorts to display a grouping of decorative items, but I would even go so far as to use it in an eat-in kitchen.
Orchids bloom over a long time, and this one gets added interest from succulents planted at its base. This whole tablescape feels artistic, and the floral/succulent addition has a sculptural aesthetic.
Create a tablescape with mementos. Channel the spirit of the style by creating a collected global tablescape. The more diverse the objects, the better this can work.
