The designer removed most of the pink punches and added a color that she felt best represented her spirited daughter — orange, and lots of it — with "dabs of magenta" and an animal print rug on the floor that tickles the feet and eyes with its zany design.
21. Boston Home Goes Ironic TraditionalThis home's early 20th-century architecture looks traditional but has been injected with a fresh take on preppy style. From the outside it's hard to believe that rooms full of oversize plaids, bold orange upholstery, zebra rugs and chevron armchairs live inside this shingle-style home.
You don't need blue to create a tropical design aesthetic. Use festive colors from the outdoors, like these greens and a floral print. The bold orange chair reminds me of a slice of mango. Again, notice that bright orange works well paired with green and toned down with neutral colors.
cute: over the top, I would never live with it, but I like it for a magazine. I think this is a good example of over decorated. I do really like it though in many ways.
