edge finish - A guy put something like that as backsplash to my bath but the side looks strange. I'm wondering what kind of caulking I could use it because there is a outlet plate right next to the tile, so I have no room for trim. (He did not put tile under the outlet for whatever reason:( ) »

Mosaic Tile Stone I typically like white grout which will make the tile look its brightest. A grey shade can be nice too, to tie in other elements of the room but will lessen the "brightness". Consider that! You can find it at Mosaic Tile & Stone at this link:
Mosaic Tile Stone That could be nice... I think it will compliment. The Calacatta Gold may blend with the Taupyness of the counter. What did you end up doing?
One idea: dark gray (pietra cardoza?) counter tops on the perimeter, with a lighter gray/white (carera) counter top for the island, which will be either cherry or painted. then use cararra tiles for the backsplash.
Liked this idea for backsplash. Something to tie the grays and whites together...
Thinking of painting the family room gray (maybe BM Balboa Mist) or in that family...
