Used cedar lumber for frame and galvanized wire panels for inserts. These panels can be found at farm & ranch supply stores. They come in various sizes, for example 42" x 96" and they can be cut to your required size. They are held in place by cedar trim pieces. The top handrail is a 2x6 cedar piece, run through a table saw so the top is slightly slanted to roll off rainwater.

The wire panels are sometimes called "cattle panels" or "hog panels." They come in different grid sizes. The grid I used was 4"x6"

First we anchored the edges of the panels to the 2x4 cedar frame, then we trimmed with 2" x 2" cedar on both sides of the panel, all the way around.
