I love the wall finish!!! - I love the wall finish!!! Could you please tell me exactly what products did you use besides the venetian plaster paste. What kind of wax did you use? What tools did you use to polish it?
Thank you »
Fitzgerald Studio this finish is a veneziano (or also called marmorino classic), I used lamp black to tint the plaster prior to application. The final polish is a burnishing while the plaster is, "leather hard" before it's dry. The wax is a liquid bees wax tinted with graphite and hand polished with a clean, soft cotton rag. The plaster has to be burnished prior to waxing for highest shine.
For a fun timepiece, try adding a clock mechanism to an empty wall. This chalkboard wall provides endless opportunities to play with the clock concept. Try writing words rather than numbers...dinnertime or bedtime, perhaps?
smooth as glass and reflective enough to see yourself in. As the artist of this wall, I want to set the record straight. Black Venetian plaster burnished, waxed and polished to high shine
