lcarney We installed a pool 12 years ago and we got the integrated cover. LOVE IT! With 5 young children, I could close it when we were finished swimming and never worry that someone was going too close, etc. It also kept the pool super clean and we used very little chemicals. Now that the kids are older we just close it periodically to keep leaves and mulch out. The only pain is after it rains...I have to use a pump to get the rainwater off. Whenever possible, if we know a storm is coming, we open it to avoid this.
3rdcoaster thank you both for the helpful replies! are there design tricks to consider in implementing this--i.e., I notice in this pool that the cover is located at the far end, so its visual impact is minimized. Are the flagstones at the far end removable to access the cover? It seems like they are not mortared in like the coping and decking? Other lessons learned? I am very attracted to this option but want to minimize visual impact when cover is open.
matheson & co Nice design!
I am looking for 6x6 frost proof tiles for inside pool like these. Hard to find! can you tell me if any natural stone would be frost free & where these tiles came from? Many Thanks!
Lang Pools Inc. Natural stone would not be frost free because it can absorb water. Frost free tile is manufactured to prevent water absorption which helps protect it from frost heave and cracking. The tile in this pool is manufatured by National Pool Tile and is called Rodeo.
The dye added to the plaster for this particular pool is called French Grey.Colored plaster can be stained by leaves and tree debris, or high amounts of metals in your fill water. Proper water chemistry is the key to extending the life of your plaster pool finish. Maintaining a clean pool to prevent debris from sitting on the floor of your pool will help, too.
