6. Wood blocks. These polished wood projection blocks of varying thicknesses create a highly textured wall within this shallow architectural niche
Texture continues to star in the space with this mosaic wall made from western red cedar. Called "Projection," it's another product that Jamie created for her collection, and it's manufactured in Jamie's factory right in Nashville. "Beautiful stains set off the wood," Jamie says, "and lighting is also key in bringing out the shadows and light."
One element in a theme. Three types of seating at one table: slip-covered chairs, a settee, a wood and metal bench and a dramatic wall treatment. The bench plays an important part of being the third piece in the theme, and its wood tones help balance out the white upholstered pieces.
A similarly textured wall adds a balance to the light furniture. Small details (such as the yellow on the upholstery, the table materials, and the decorative pieces on it) work together to create texture and shape.
Wood tiles. Replace traditional ceramic tiles with a wood tiles for an organic effect. Choose woods of varying grains and install the individual tiles at different depths for a 3-D illusion.
