Timothy Lee landscape design We typically use a shredded pine bark mulch here but we've been moving towards a finer mulch one that's been ground several times so it breaks down quicker especially in plant beds. If the client is interested we like to use a mulch that has organic compost mixed in or a straight leaf mulch which has the highest nutrient content. This is great to apply in the fall and in beds that are really struggling for food. We stay away from the red mulch and the hemlock unless a client specifically demands it.
