Dining Room - this is my dining room. it is 13 by 13 square. this flip top table is from my apt but i need to use it for a while in my new house and make the best of it. the chandelier i just purchased. any advice? bigger centerpiece? wall hangings? rug under table? size of rug? style? buffet?
the room just looks too empty. fyi: there is a triple window to the left, and a blank wall to the right with a entry to the kitchen. this is the view looking in from the entry hall.

thanks! Great idea to turn the runner. i just thought it had to go the length not the width but i will try it out. love the rug but very similar to my great room rug. would a sisal with a border work or too casual?

This shows a similar dining area. I think I'd remove the runner: Crisp Architects

A sisal with border would be nice: Abstract Landscape Oil Paintings

Be sure to measure carefully and order a rug that is large enough. Probably almost to the walls in your DR. Here's an article: Ideabook: How to Choose a Rug for Your Dining Room
