This large space calls for large visual accents - anything else would feel lost in the room. In smaller spaces art or accent walls may be appropriate, but in this large combined kitchen, bistro, and living room, the exposed stone wall compliments the rustic feel from the exposed beams while providing bold visual stimulus to the walls that would otherwise be plain beige. The floor to ceiling stone adds height to the room and suggests that the structure is stone rather than just a stone accent in the room.
