Where can I look at the house plans for this home? - I live in Florida, building a house at the beach and this looks great.
Especially like the symmetry: our lot is 50x115.

I am doing a yellow house - clapboard colonial - with white trim and a black roof and black shutters. - We plan to do a black asphalt driveway (front of house) up to the attached garage. Having trouble deciding on the walkway and stoop material. Could you tell m what product and color was used on this house. It is very nice. I am thinking of doing a blue front door. It is a simple colonial. Thank you. »
Prune your landscaping. This helps show off the great railings and details of your porch and helps protect them, too. I learned the hard way last summer that my charming pink roses were causing my porch rails to rot. Some pruning could have saved me a lot of money in repairs.
To engage the world, a home should have an in-between space that beckons to the passersby while providing shelter and a perch from which to watch the street. This is a space, such as a porch, from which you can see the street, and the street can see you. Creating such a space is more than good manners and neighborliness — it also helps keep a neighborhood safe, as crime typically takes place in the shadows.
