Need help for my kitchen - We are remodeling and need o select granite countertops, backsplash and tile. Can you suggest some things to keep in mind when selecting these 3 items? »
Peg Berens Interior Design LLC The main thing to consider is practicality. For example, if you have kids and a lot of activity in your home, then honed marble is probably a poor choice as it will etch and mark up easily (for example, if orange juice is spilled on it). You can google different countertop materials that will tell you the pros and cons of each one. This is the most important thing to consider.
The next issue is selecting a material that will not look dirty all the time (again - this may only be an issue depending on your situation). For example, a black glossy granite will look dirtier (fingerprints, smudges, crumbs...) than a beige honed granite.
Finally, select a material that complements all the other finishes in your kitchen and surrounding areas. The color should be of a similar hue and intensity.
Peg Berens Interior Design LLC So sorry that I can't help you on this one. This cool double sized desk has been in the clients' family long before I came into the picture!
Peg Berens Interior Design LLC This isn't a loveseat, but actually a twin TempurPedic mattress with a custom cover in a specially designed napping "niche"! We converted an unused closet into the niche. The client loves it and naps and reads in it daily!
Peg Berens Interior Design LLC I'm glad you like this mirror - I love it as well. I love to match high quality pieces with everyday bargains in my rooms. Believe it or not, I found this convex mirror at a HomeGoods store (not sure what city you are in, but it is the home decor side of TJMaxx)! Convex mirrors are so popular - you should be able to pick one up easily.
Sheila Schmitz I am sure those are custom made for this room. You could have someone who sews professionally design and make something like this for you.
Try three rooms in one. This glamorous yet functional office for two was converted from an extra bedroom."An old closet was reconfigured into a reading/sleeping nook and was sized to hold a twin-size Tempur-Pedic mattress," says Peg Berens. "There's even a television installed on the right wall of the nook on a swing arm, so that it can easily be viewed from the desk area as well as the nook. It's a perfect office for work, rest and relaxation."
hmm...I really wanted long curtain panel from the ceiling...i guess it won't be so bad going above the arched window in the office...maybe I could do a different lengths to match the arch..

Good luck!
