Ecclectic Kitchen Remodel under $400

My husband and I painted our old hand-me-down fridge with $9 chalkboard paint, added a $25 thrift store dresser and a $45 garage sale stove. The shelf above the stove was originally a floor joist that we cleaned up and attached to the wall to add character and history. We also tore up several layers of linoleum and refinished the wood floors underneath with a dark walnut stain.

The potrack actually came with the kitchen when we bought the house! I'm not sure what brand it is but I've seen similar ones at Bed Bath & Beyond and Amazon.

Fabulous transformation - the PRICE is the best part! The vintage stove makes the cottage charm feel genuine. I live in a town where "cottage charm" = "old and moldy" (their before pics). Finding the original floor, opening the ceiling, and lots of paint - simple things can really bring back the lost beauty ....

chalkboard fridge. You can buy panels of chalkboard and just put it over the side. Consider doing that.

I love how you restored your wood floors. They look gorgeous. Great idea for a fridge! All around great kitchen.
