Love the bitty chair, probably a priceless antique, but the bottom shelves look like they do have children's books that are pulled out, read and returned. This is a collection of books that is read and loved. These books are alive, and that makes me happy. That is what I like about this photo. Also, the books have various objet d'art scattered throughout, giving the collection character and interest. The books, however, should either be standing straight up and held in place with a bookend of some sort or lying flat on its side. Books should never, ever be leaning or tipping over as they do on the next to last shelf of the first book case on the left-- right above the wee rocking chair. This does make your library look busy, used and well loved, but it will absolutely and completely destroy your book's spine. Low profile bookends can be ordered from library suppliers such as for less than $5.00 each.
