redotime I would guess that the look could be achieved by covering 1"x4'x8' styrofoam insulation panels with some textural fabric. I'd be careful to choose a lightweight synthetic microsuede for the covering and affix it to the styrofoam with a spray adhesive, perhaps reinforcing the fabric attachment on the back of the front panels with t-pins. The panels would be cut into thirds, covered, and affixed to another 1"x4'x8' styrofoam insulation panel that has been painted on the vertical side edges with black paint (so that it recedes and disappears into the black wall space where the lights are) with with a thick gooey adhesive (think caulk gun with Liquid Nails or other quick dry adhesive). There are special nails with plastic-y washers on them that can be used to attach the back full panel to the wall.
