I'd definitely suggest something lighter like this is on the perimeter to balance out the light and dark. A granite like Bianco Romano, White Spring, etc.

That actually looks like a quartzite - maybe something like Luna di Luce. Check with your local supplier since they all call them by different names.

I used "Waverton" in my kitchen, Brentwood in the master bathroom and Collybrooke in the guest bath. They all look great. The only thing I was not completely satisfied with were the little variations in the different pieces. Some look like spots that just don't belong there. You don't find that with marble or granite.

Whatever this is....it's beautiful!
