Espaces Viridis I agree with 6136niagara. I also think it's (botanical name) Kniphofia uvaria. Common names are: Red Hot Poker, Common Torch Lily, Torch Lily, Poker Plant, Tritoma. Cheers et bon jardinage.
Ronique Gibson Spring to me means beautiful flowers and happy colors. If you want a permanent boost of color, consider painting your door in a brighter shade. Yellow, red, or even a turquoise!
For seasonal ideas, think of wreaths, or even plant hangers that hold fresh flowers.
How to use it. While Kniphofia lends itself naturally to subtropical and Mediterranean gardens, it makes a great addition to any spot in need of color and clean texture. Lining an entry path in the garden shown here, a large clump of poker flowers projects up and creates a nice textural and colorful contrast to surrounding plants. Mixed in a planter with high-textured plants and grasses, Kniphofia picks up warm-hued accents and creates a dynamic planting profile.
