This wonderful accent table is part of our "Mushroom Table" collection. This collection is made up of slabs cut from two different half burned Bristlecone logs and a variety of hand picked bases. This color only comes from years of extreme mountain weather in the high Rocky Mountains.

Dimensions: 24" tall x 15" to 28" wide

Reclaimed from a Colorado Wildfire burn area estimated to have burned in the late 1800's or early 1900's. We carefully remove the trees from the 11,000' altitude forest taking extra measure to not disturb any tree that is growing. These trees can stand dead for over 500 years without rot. Bristlecone Pine is thought to be the oldest single living organism known; reaching up to 8,200 years! The oldest living Bristlecone known today is "Methuselah" in California that has been core sampled and determined to be over 4,700 years old. Because of the harsh growing conditions, the tree grows very slow and very dense. We have tried to count the tree rings on the stumps and lost track quickly since they are so tight together. Just think of the history these trees contain!

Bristlecone Pine is naturally resistant to pests and rot. However, we do place them in a dry kiln at temperatures above 150 degrees for 48 hours to ensure when you receive your ancient piece there are no surprises! These trees are so resilient that they did not even burn in the wildfire.

We have carefully selected each piece, removed the charred area and sanded to reveal the beautiful character without disturbing the naturally grayed weathered areas. The top and bottom are leveled and the bottom has carpet pads to protect your floor. The tops are finish sanded with 220 grit and the entire piece is hand sprayed with a low sheen finish.

We have a lot of fun reclaiming these pieces. We get to live, study and play in one of the most beautiful states! We spend a lot of our free time hiking through the forest in search of the next special piece. Our yard is graced with many Bristlecone Pine logs waiting for their next life in your home!

The photos are of the table (accessories are not included). We never cut anything from a living tree. A Bristlecone Pine tree can be 95% dead with one little limb with bark feeding this area and we will not touch it. Call us "green" or anything we just are just amazed at these magnificent trees!
