Can you tell me how thick the glass shelves are? I am looking to order some custom shelves and am debating between 1/4" and 3/8" thickness. Shelves will be in living room - in a recessed part of wall. »
bepsf For shelves of this size, 1/4 inch is sufficient...
...but if you're having them installed within a tiled recess and want to have them permanently mounted without clips - use glass that is same thickness as your groutlines so that the glass will rest within the overall pattern and your tilesetter won't have to make special cuts to accommodate them.
Habachy Designs I disagree... I think 1/2" thick flat polished edge is the only way to go for the looks and durability! Also go with tempered glass if you can for safety!
