LORRAINE G VALE, Allied ASID Hello-and thank you for your interest in this space. The previos light source was a recessed can. I had my electrician convert it to accept a pendant fixture. I do this wherever I can. It is more attractive, giving interest to the top of the stairs and lends a custom look. The fixture is from Currey, however, I believe it has been discontinued.

LORRAINE G VALE, Allied ASID As far as I can tell from this photo, all of the colors in your kitchen are in the warm, earthy tones. I would suggest enhancing the feeling of the warmth by adding browns, orange, golden yellows with your fabrics.

charlottemom Yes, please, please tell me the stain color on the floor. Also what type of wood is that on the floor? Is it red oak? How did they get the variation in the staining - through application or is it just the way the wood took the stain? I live in Charlotte. How far are you from Charlotte?
