sarita020 Hello ; I assume it is custom made. I had a friend of mine that built a similar door in mahogany. On the sidelites it has like columns. Check www.mahoganydoorshonduras.com; they specialize on custom jobs; or search them on this same site as "Mahogany de Honduras". Good luck!!
mitziplayer Looks like wide plank, heart of pine flooring. The wider planks give it more of an authentic feel. But this wood can be really expensive, especially if its reclaimed pine. Each large log only can make 2 heart boards, out of the center or heart of the log. It also looks like the new low sheen finish (satin) that many builders/designers are recommending to get a more original and custom look. Has the look of a hand rubbed oil finish. You can get a similar look with unstained oak flooring, a dark walnut stain and satin finish, maybe by Bona. That will give you everything but the wide planks. The difference is $2.75 a board compared to $17.00 a board on average, $23.00 for reclaimed.
**There is also a heart of oak and heart of maple flooring, same deal as above
Can you please tell me if your light fixtures are a burnished brass or bronze or maybe something else.. - I can't decide if I should use burnished brass or bronze fixtures in our light gray foyer (BM Wickham Gray) and I love the look of the fixtures that you have in your foyer. Thank you in advance. »
An entry foyer doesn't have to be double height and with a sweeping, curving bridal staircase to be elegant and quite handsome. In fact, the staircase doesn't — and probably more often than not, shouldn't — start at the front door. After all, these stairs take us to the private quarters of the home, so being a bit removed from the main entry door can be a good thing.
