I was wondering where this is (geographically) as I am wondering if it has the same climate as Portland Oregon. Also, do those plants stay green and lush year around? Just wondering, thank you.

Sheila Schmitz This designer is in Sedona, Arizona (click "More Info" for his Houzz profile and links to his personal site). The plant looks like wisteria (judging from the thick entwining trunks). If so, its leaves drop in fall and come back in spring, when it creates amazing, fragrant blooms. More on that here:
The same basic techniques for creating nests in a room space can be used in a walkway. This pathway does it all. A beautiful vista is created by the archway and the opening at its end, drawing visitors to explore the tunnel. If that tunnel were closed at the end, it would seem spooky instead of exhilarating and inviting. A vista is a must! Another must: the encompassing plantings over the arch. Without the addition of grapevines, climbing roses or other climbing plants, an archway can can seem too empty.
Find a path. The journey, not the destination, often counts. So enjoy the journeys around your house and be open to what you see and learn along the way.

I figured the big trellises over the fences would be something we would want to show off...this one seems a little more tunnel like then wat i imagine we would have but maybe this pic would work anyway? any other thoughts?? - Christina
